DESCRIPTION

SPECIFICATIONS

The Static Cone Penetrometer is used to evaluate the consistency of soils, their level of compaction and the bearing capacity of shallow foundations and pavement sub-grades. It has been specifically developed for use in fine grained soils, particularly soft soils, to depths of 30 feet below ground surface (bgs). The penetrometer uses a 60-degree vertex angled cone with an area of 1.5 cm squared. An optional cone with a 3 cm squared area is available for use in very soft soils. The Static Cone Penetrometer includes one 60 degree cone with a maximum area of 1.5 cm squared, one 24-inch starter rod assembly, a pressure gauge, and operating instructions. Cone material: stainless steel and anodized aluminum. *Rental kits are shipped in a case; purchased kits do not include a case.
