The FSM-50R12 offers numerous improvements to increase productivity and provide additional flexibility. A new "auto load" feature provides for fast and easy placement of the fiber holders into the splicer. The FSM-50R12 also benefits from a greatly improved tube heater which shrinks a 12 fiber splice protection sleeve in approximately 45 seconds. Other enhancements include larger capacity batteries, dual direction monitor, and real time arc calibration.

Splice Loss: 0.05 dB with SM fiber, 0.02 dB with MM, and 0.08dB with NZ-DS fiber (typical), 0.08db with DS fiber
Splicing Time: Typical 20 seconds
